Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
Week 4 was a good week: almost all the items from last weeks work in progress have been ticked off already and have landed in some snapshot, of which we have seen 6 during the last week (0119, 0120, 0121, 0122, 0124 and 0125).
The snapshots contained those bits and pieces (and more of course):
- Mesa 17.3.3
- Linux kernel 4.14.14
- LibreOffice 6.0RC2
- git 2.16.1
- KDE Applications 17.12.1
- KDE Frameworks 5.42.0
- KDE Plasma 5.11.95 (exceptionally a beta, in an attempt to have the largest possible tester pool for the version of Leap; but the KDE Maintainers have tested it and declared it as stable for daily use)
- Libvirt 4.0.0
But of course Tumbleweed would not be rolling if the developers did not all have piled up more changes, closely following upstream projects. Staging areas currently contain these updates for you:
- MozillaFirefox 58
- GCC 7.3
- Linux Kernel 4.14.15
- OpenJDK 11 tech preview (for the curious ones, not used to build distro packages yet)
- CryptSetup 2.0
- Liberation2 Fonts will disappear again (switching back to Liberation-Fonts)
- SunRPC will be disabled in glibc, completing the switch to tirpc (likely together with glibc 2.27 when released)
