•

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,

This week saw the release of 3 snapshots (0924, 0929, and 0930).

Leading off with our previous outlook, both Linux Kernel 7.2.7 and 7.2.8 were successfully delivered across snapshots 0924 and 0929, keeping hardware support on the fast track. Core toolchains and the everyday terminal environment received a healthy refresh with the rollout of binutils 2.47, coreutils 9.12, bash 5.3.20, and an updated bash-completion 2.18.0. Desktop typography also stepped forward with synchronized support for Unicode 18.0 landing across character utilities and emoji fonts.

On the multimedia and desktop front, VLC 3.0.24 arrived with updated FFmpeg support, VirtualBox stepped up to version 7.2.20, and Flatpak saw two quick bugfix releases (1.18.3 & 1.18.4).
