{"id":455,"date":"2016-06-03T17:00:40","date_gmt":"2016-06-03T16:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dominique.leuenberger.net\/blog\/?p=455"},"modified":"2016-06-17T16:39:23","modified_gmt":"2016-06-17T15:39:23","slug":"opensuse-tumbleweed-review-of-the-weeks-201622","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominique.leuenberger.net\/blog\/2016\/06\/opensuse-tumbleweed-review-of-the-weeks-201622\/","title":{"rendered":"openSUSE Tumbleweed \u2013 Review of the Week 2016\/22"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,<\/p>\n<p>As is normal for openSUSE, we are somewhat &#8216;linked&#8217; to the numbers &#8216;4&#8217; and &#8216;2&#8217; &#8211; so it can&#8217;t be a surprise that this week we released 4 snapshots &#8211; I&#8217;ll see if I can make up something for the &#8216;2&#8217; as I go along \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>The snapshots considered for this review are 0526, 0529, 0530 and 0531 and there were quite some big expected things landing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KDE Appications 16.04.1 &#8211; it took longer than we wanted it to &#8211; but it&#8217;s there now<\/li>\n<li>Perl 5.24.0 &#8211; A few packages still fail to build, but it&#8217;s not ring packages. That can still mean that some of YOUR things need fixing. Report bugs!<\/li>\n<li>Linux Kernel 4.6.0 &#8211; Binary kernel modules, as usual, need to catch up. They are out of our control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And what is planned to be coming your way next?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Linux Kernel 4.6.1 &#8211; because it&#8217;s ready<\/li>\n<li>QEmu 2.6.0<\/li>\n<li>LibreOffice 5.2.0<\/li>\n<li>GCC 6 as default compiler &#8211; It&#8217;s getting closer.
