Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
Week 19 is coming to an end – and it was a week packed with snapshots: A total of 6 snapshots has been published this week (0502, 0505, 0506, 0507, 0508 and 0509). And there are some changes that had been long awaited. So let’s get straight to it:
- Linux kernel 5.0.10, 5.0.11
- GNOME 3.32.1 (we skipped 3.32.0)
- Mozilla Firefox 66.0.4 (fixing the extensions certificate chain)
- Ghostscript 9.27
- Squid 4.7
- KDE Plasma 5.15.5
The next snapshot to come (0510) will be the first to make use of GCC9 libraries. GCC9 is so far only providing the standard libraries, but is not yet used as the default compiler. This switch will happen somewhen in the not too distant future. Other upcoming changes include:
- Systemd 242
- Qt 5.13 (once the final release is out)
- QEmu 4.0
- Libvirt 5.3.0
- Wireshark 3.0
- Linux kernel 5.0.13
As usual, those changes will reach you when they are ready.
